La collection D-Rose et sa saison MVP ! 🌹

3 years to reach the top and receive the highest personal honor in the league
We know that D-Rose's career is full of twists and turns, unfortunately due to numerous injuries. At DearBBall, we would above all like to pay tribute to the caring player he was throughout his career and in particular his thunderous start to his career with his famous MVP title at the age of 22.

We tell you everything about these first 3 seasons and the D-Rose MVP page, forever in the big league history book 🌹:

D-Rose's first three seasons in the big league were synonymous with success, showing the extent of his talent and his incredible potential, evolving from season to season. He was drafted first overall by Chicago in 2008, becoming the first University of Memphis player to be drafted first overall.
  • His first season was solid, averaging 16.8 points, 6.3 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game. He was named Rookie of the Year, showing his ability to quickly adapt to the professional level of play. This was just the beginning of his rise to prominence.

  • His sophomore season was even more impressive for a sophomore, as he improved his stats, averaging 20.8 points, 6 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game. He was also selected for the first time in the All-Star Game (as well as the rookie game), signifying the development of the young leader.

  • But it was during his 3rd year that D-Rose made history. By becoming the youngest MVP the league has ever seen, at just 22 years old... A stratospheric feat for a player so young. He finished the season averaging 25 points per game, 7.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds, taking Chicago to first place during the regular season with a very nice 62-20 record and leading the team in the Eastern Conference Finals.
D-Rose's first three seasons showed what a player he is capable of being when spared from injuries. An MVP whose agility, speed and ability to attack the basket were the keys to his success, as well as his ability to make his teammates play and involve them in the game. A player and person loved by all.

During his MVP season in 2011, D-Rose was simply:
  • The youngest MVP in league history, dethroning Wes Unseld, elected in 1969 at age 23.
  • The first Chicago player to receive this distinction since the five-time GOAT between 1988 and 1998.
  • The fifth player in history to compile at least 2000 points, 600 assists and 300 rebounds in a season.
  • The seventh player in history to average 25 points, 7.5 assists and 4 rebounds in one season.
  • The first Chicago player to appear in the Top 10 for best scorers (7th) and best passers (10th), in the same season since MJ in 1989.

An MVP speech filled with kindness and emotion
One of the most memorable moments of D-Rose's career?

His speech at the MVP trophy ceremony . He expressed great emotion, in tears and struggling to speak. The street boy from Chicago was very grateful to everyone who supported him to get to this point:

Starting by thanking his family, his teammates, his coaches, his agent, the fans, as well as the Chicago franchise. He expressed his gratitude to his parents who supported him throughout his life, “I know that I was not always easy to live with, but you believed in me, you gave me love and you raised me in the right direction.”
He also thanked his teammates for their support on the field, saying "Without you, I wouldn't be here today." You believed in me and worked hard every day to get us to where we are now.”
He spoke about the impact he wanted to have on the city of Chicago, stating "I want to do something special for this city, I want to make this city proud of us." He also spoke of his mother, who had recently left, paying tribute to her: "I know you are up there and watching me. I love you, mom."

This moving speech from D-Rose shows, beyond the passionate and determined player that he is, a person with a big heart. His gratitude to his family, his teammates, his staff and the city of Chicago was touching, showing that he never forgot the people who helped him achieve his goals. These words have also inspired many basketball fans and players, showing that success does not come without hard work, dedication and gratitude to those who have helped you along the way.

By wearing the D-Rose collection, it is also a strong message that you will share.
